4 Days Induction Program

Faculty of Physiotherapy organized a 4-day induction program for the undergraduates entering the institution at a start. The induction programme was designed and executed in a way that makes the students comfortable in their environment, open them upset healthy daily routine, creating bond between the faculty members and the batch mates. Each day’s program was a mixture of different types of activities: quiz competition, debates, fun games, motivational talks etc.

Day 1 started with the students being addressed by the worthy Dean who enlightened the students about the course and encouraging them to work hard and with discipline as it would lead them to be effective professionals. This was then followed by the introduction of the students as well as faculty members, students were briefed about the history of university focusing on the departmental growth, reaches, examination pattern, course curriculum, periodical assessment. Students showed keen interest in understanding the system efficiently.

Day 2 started with the session on Mental health by Faculty of Behavioural sciences with the aim that these sessions will sensitize the students about the issues related to stress, in their lives, how to identify them, and how to manage them effectively. It was further followed by worthy Vice Chancellor of the University Mr. Balvinder Kumar addressing students wherein he advised students to be more alert in the world of competition. He was a real source of motivation for the students and they came back with some takeaway home points like be tech-savvy, develop one passion, remove fear if any, don’t compare yourself with others. The day was followed by the quiz competition which was organized by the faculty wherein the winning team was appreciated by distribution of certificates.

Day 3 started with lots of excitement as it had debate competition and fun games in the pipeline for the day, students showed the keen interest in keeping in their points on the topic “Role of Social Media in today’s scenario “. Students could very well correlate with the topic and enjoyed being part of the debate. The day concluded with fun games which they thoroughly enjoyed.

Day 4 started with the students being educated about the demand for the skilled profession and was later followed by the guest lecture by Dr V P Gupta, Chief physiotherapist in Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery Department, AIIMS New Delhi. He encouraged students and inculcated in them the effectiveness of comprehensive education and enlightened them about learning the basics of all the medical subjects as it lays down the foundation for all the clinical diagnosis to be worked on.

The Induction Program concluded with students thoroughly enjoying it which inculcated in them the importance of professionalism and values and at the same time  helped  them in establishing a healthy bonding within the student community.
