Biomechanics is the foundation of physiotherapy. Understanding the biomechanical aspect helps the therapist in identifying the source of various sports injuries. Keeping that in mind, Faculty of Physiotherapy under Association of Sports health & fitness organized a Webinar on Biomechanical analysis in sports on 6th July 2021. Resource person of the day was Viney Prakash Dubey, sports scientist & researcher from Lithuania, Europe. The event started with welcome speech by Dr Ejaz Hussian, Dean, Faculty of Physiotherapy. The event was graced with some motivational words by Associate Dean & HOD, Faculty of Physiotherapy Dr Pooja Anand. She emphasized on the need of such events during the pandemic and keeping students engaged in the studies as well as making them aware of the current scenario around. The event was followed by the interactive session with the resource person. Mr Viney explained about the use of technologies in easing the biomechanical analysis. He also gave a glimpse of futuristic research scopes in biomechanics and sports physiotherapy. The webinar was organized to enhance and focus on the key to clinical concepts and how it can help the students reach better diagnosis for patients with recurring sports injuries. The session was moderated by Dr Jaganjyoti Das, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Physiotherapy wherein the brief concept of the topic was delivered and the queries were taken by the students. It was a very informative session wherein more than 170 students actively participated and were involved in question answers & case discussions. The event ended with Vote of thanks by Dr Sajjan Pal, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Physiotherapy. He encouraged to organize such more activities in the field of Physiotherapy to enhance the skills of the students.
